NEW! Tripod Trivet from Alessi

If you are looking for an unusual gift for a "foodie" friend then this brand new tripod trivet from Alessi may be just the thing. Designed by Gabriele Chiave, at first glance it could be mistaken for a piece of contemporary jewellery, with its delicate silver chain onto which four moveable chrome plated "jacks" are attached. Devised to dangle conveniently from a kitchen hook, it can be taken down and thrown like dice onto the dining table or kitchen worktop where it transforms into a trivet for hot saucepans, oven trays or serving dishes. Priced at £20 and available at Beth Stevens

"Blow Up" designer accessories by Fratelli Campana

If you are looking for something different on the home accessories front then take a look at the "blow up" range by Brazilian designers Humberto Campana (a lawyer) and Fernando Campana (an architect). Inspired by industrial rubbish their designs include a citrus bowl (shown above), fruit basket, magazine rack, extremely large centrepiece and a recent addition to the range, a clock. Made from mirror polished steel, all their objects are both functional as well as beautifully constructed and will certainly make an impact! Priced from £41.95 (fruit basket) to £109.95 (clock) they are manufactured by Alessi and available at http://www.bethstevens.co.uk/

PS. The fabulous image was undertake by Kate Coupland who is currently working on a project for us - you can see a selection of some of her other contemporary photographs at http://www.klomu.com/
